About me
Hi, I'm Jo :)
a passionate advertising photographer from Germany.
I love seeing the world from all different angles, so I traveled as much as possible starting at the tender age of 14. I lived in the US when I was 16, in Italy when I was 19 and moved to London when I was 26.
Determined to learn advertising photography from the ground up, from the best, I decided it was best to leave the well known art photography university HGB in Germany and move to London.
There, I graduated with honours in photography and, more importantly, was able to learn from some of the best in the world. For 10 years, I worked as an international assistant photographer and digit tech for many renowned photographers and brands, from Apple to Nike to Vogue.
One summer day I photographed an underwater love story in the beautiful lakes of my hometown back in Germany. It was here that my own love story began.
Shortly afterward, I moved for love, back to my roots, Funnily my boyfriend and I knew each other as children. We even rescued frogs together. The Frog Prince is now also the father of our son :)
I've been working as a freelance advertising photographer in Germany since 2022.
In 2025 I was selected by Lürzer's Archive as " 200 best ad photographers worldwide, edition 12".

After graduating, I started photographing weddings, actor portraits, events, and small advertising assignments in addition to working as an assistant. Larger commissions followed.
For this, I traveled from London via Switzerland to Australia.
In 2018 I met my big love and although I had searched all over the world, I discovered him in my hometown of Freyenstein/Wittstock.
In 2022 I became self-employed as an advertising photographer in Germany.
